Let’s Just Do This Writing · Lupus · Kakes

Let’s just do this.

Keli’s blog, a place to work out lupus alongside people who get it, and years of cakes from a church kitchen in Fort Lauderdale.

Coming soon. Keli is writing her own introduction — who she is, and why this place exists. Everything below is here and working in the meantime.

Three parts, and you are welcome to only ever look at one

None of them is a warm-up for the others. Take whichever one you came for.

The Blog

The ordinary, good, nothing-to-do-with-being-sick parts of a life. No theme, no schedule, no pretending.

Living With Lupus

A first-hand account of it, what the research actually says, and people who understand without the explaining.

Keli’s Kakes

Years of cakes from the kitchen at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale — event by event, with the photos.

Two kinds of writing, never mixed

The most dangerous thing on a health page is a personal story that reads like medical advice. Someone newly diagnosed, frightened, and reading at two in the morning will take a confident sentence as instruction no matter how it was meant. That is not a small risk to manage later. It is the risk, so the whole site is built around it.

Experience

What happened to me

Keli’s own account, first person. No sourcing burden, because it is a life and not a claim — and it never implies that what happened to her will happen to you.

What the research says

Plain answers carrying their sources and a confidence label, so you can see how solid the ground is before you stand on it.

You should be able to tell which one you are reading at a glance, without working for it. If something cannot honestly carry a source, it does not get published here at all. An unsourced claim is not a rough draft on a health site — it is a rumor with better formatting.

The people who get it

There is a private space here for talking with people who already know the background — where you can say how you are actually doing without explaining the whole thing first.

It opens once there is something to open it for. Launching a support space into an empty room wastes the one launch that matters most, and the people who would show up first are the ones with the least energy to spare.

Not medical advice. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and it is not written by a medical professional. Nothing here treats, prevents, or cures anything, and nothing here is a recommendation for you specifically. Please do not start, stop, or change a treatment because of something you read here — talk to your own doctor, who knows your case and your history. If you are in crisis, contact your care team or your local emergency services.

There is no email address printed anywhere on this site, on purpose. The contact page explains where that stands.
